CRPF ASI (Steno) & HC (Ministerial) Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2013

Central Police Reserve Force ( CRPF) have notified an advertisement for the recruitment of ASI (Steno) & HC (Ministerial), this month November, 2012 . According to the detailed advertisement, there are total 1140 vacancies in this recruitment; Out of which :-

  • Head Constable – Clerk ( Ministerial ) – 245 Vacancies
  • Assistant Sub-Inspector – Stenographer Grade -III  –  895 Vacancies

The recruitment process for the concerned posts will start in 2012; The tentative schedule of the recruitment process is following :-

  • First Phase :- Documents checking, physical test & written examination – 17/01/2013 to 10/03/2013
  • Second Phase :- Skill test, Medical Exam , Interview& Merit List – 15/04/2013 to 22/04/2013

We will talk in detail about each phase and stage of the recruitment process .

Exam Pattern / Selection Procedure

As you have already seen that there are two phases in the selection process :-

  • First Phase
  • Second Phase

First Phase

The first phase will start from the last weeks of January, 2013 ( May be exactly 17/01/2013 ) and it includes the following stages :-

Documents Checking

The very first stage of the selection process is just like formality; In this stage your original documents will be examined by the recruitment panel to know whether you are eligible or not . You have to carry the following documents with you :-

  • 10th & 12th class passing certificate & mark sheets . If you are having some higher qualification as you have indicated in our application form; Carry the original certificate with you .
  • Caste certificates for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories .
  • Any other certificate ( Ex-serviceman, Sportsman etc. )

Physical Measurement Test

As notified in the detailed advertisement; You should posses the required height,weight and chest .

Written Examination

I feel this is the most important stage of the selection process; As you will be shortlisted here and the final merit list will also be based on written examination . The candidates who are failed in the previous stage ‘ PMT ‘ , are not allowed to sit in the written examination .

There are four parts in the question paper of written examination :-

  • Hindi/English Language
  • General Intelligence.
  • Numerical Aptitude.
  • Clerical Aptitude

The first phase is expected to be ended on 10/03/2013 . It’s arond three months; So obviously a large number of candidates are expected .

Second Phase

The candidates who are qualified in the first phase ( Physical test & Written Examination ), will be called for the second phase . The second phase duration is from 15/04/2013 to 22/04/2013 . Now let’s take a look at the stages of recruitment process which are included in second phase :-

Skill Test

There will be a skill test for both the posts, ASI (Steno) & HC (Ministerial) and obviously in different ways . No marks will be awarded for the skill test; You have to just qualify it and you will be forwarded to the next stage of selection process .

Typing Test for HC (Ministerial)

There will be a typing test on computer ; You have to get speed of 35 wpm in English OR 30 wpm in Hindi .

Note – For SC/ST candidates the typing speed will be relaxed to 30 wpm in English

Stenography Test ( ASI Stenographer )

There will be a stenography test for the candidates who are qualified for the post of ASI ( Steno ) in CRPF . The details of the skill test is following :-

Do not forget to take a look at this if you do not know about stenography !

As there is a recruitment of 80 wpm as a stenography speed so the procedure of the skill test will be as follows :-

Dictation will be given for 10 minutes at a speed of 80 wpm and you have to translate it in :-

  • English  –  50 minutes
  • Hindi  –  65 minutes
You have to translate & type it on computer ; Typewrites are not allowed .

Interview

If you get qualify certificate in the skill test; Then you will be allowed to appear for the interview test . The interview will be of total 25 marks and these marks will be included while preparing the final selected list of the candidates .

You have to produce your all original documents at the time of interview .

Medical Examination

Finally; The last stage of the recruitment process is a detailed medical examination of the candidate . If the candidate is found unfit in this examination then he/she may file a appeal against the decision of the medical board of CRPF . You have to produce a physical fitness certificate within a month to the concerned recruitment center of CRPF .
