SSC typing test for LDC & DEO

Candidates have to type in the language, they have previously indicated in their application form; Let us take a look on the procedure of skill test for both the posts -

LDC – The skill test/typing test will be conducted for only those candidates who are qualified in the written examination; Candidate have to type for 10 minutes on computer provided by SSC or authorized agency with a speed of

English – 35 wpm

Hindi – 30 wpm

at the time of skill test .

35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. corresponds to 10500 key depressions per hour/9000 key depressions per hour respectively.

DEO – You have to achieve a minimum speed of Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour at the time of typing test on SSC’s computers . This test’s duration is 15 minutes so a printed material of 2000 to 2500 characters will be given to the candidates and they have to type the same in given time .

 The above tests ( Typing test ) are qualify nature i.e. you have to just qualify these tests, the marks of these tests will not be included while preparing the final merit list of selected candidates.

Difference between typing test of LDC and DEO

In the typing test of LDC , there will be a simple paragraph with sequence of sentences but in DEO’s skill test, there will some random words or keywords which will be given to the candidates and they have to type the same on the computer .

Mistakes in the skill test

Full mistakes – Omission/substitution of a word, will be counted as a full mistake .

Half Mistakes – Space errors, little spelling mistakes, wrong capitalization etc., will be counted as a half mistake .

Steps involved in the skill test

  1. Candidates will be called on a computer center of SSC or any authorized agency by SSC .
  2. Candidates are advised to come with original as well as attested documents .
  3. Candidates have to fill up their personal details and have to confirm it .
  4. If you have the time then you may use to correct your mistakes in the skill test .
  5. Now as the typing test over; Candidate have to write a paragraph of 50-60 words in his/her own handwriting .
  6. Now handover these sheets to controller of the examination .
